On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, the back entrance and parking lot at Turner Community Library will be closed for building maintenance. Please use the front entrance to the Turner Recreation Commission to access the Library.

On April 1, 2026, the Artemis II launched from the NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida and was watch by millions as the four astronauts headed towards the moon. From amazing images, funny moments, and lots of "moon joy", its been an exciting 10 days of exploration by these accomplished professionals. We are excited to welcome the crew back to earth after their mission!

Black Environmentalists
Concerns about humanity’s negative impact on the environment first began during the 20th century. Classic books like A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold and Silent Spring by Rachel Carson began the modern environmentalist movement. These authors shone a spotlight on humanity’s impact on the world and how it could have negative effects on the environment. Since then, the negative impact of pollution, land use, resource extraction, and climate change have been further studied and continue to contribute to declining rates of plants and animal species along with natural areas around the world.
