Mini People on Big Adventures

Main Library is proud to present the collection of works from local photographer Luke Pech titled Mini People on Big Adventures throughout March and April! This collection showcases miniature people figurines, designed and painted in Germany, that are usually used in model train or architectural displays, and the fun things they get up to around Kansas City and other locations. The figurines are HO scale, or 1:87 to life size, which makes the scale feel plausible in the real-life scenarios depicted.

Luke does not use a macro lens. Instead, he shoots with 50mm, 16-35mm, or 18-55mm lenses, choosing to use the structures around the figurines to create scale perspectives. The photos also aren't altered with AI or Photoshop. All photos are taken as raw images using the actual figures in the natural or created environments that Luke has chosen.

Come check out the display at the Main Library starting March 2 through April 30, 2026, to see his work up close!
