Saturday Nature Story Time


Every Third Saturday at the Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Schlagle Library

Join us each month for a nature-themed storytime designed with the Every Child Ready to Read practices in mind. We’ll dive into stories and songs that celebrate the natural world, enjoy a movement activity, and explore a hands-on tactile element connected to our theme.

Some months we may meet one of our animal ambassadors, and when the weather is nice, we’ll head outdoors to enjoy the beauty of our lake park.

Come spend your Saturday morning reading, exploring, and discovering nature with us—there’s always something new to learn and experience! 🌿📚🐾

Road closure update 01/23/2026:
West Drive from Shelter 4 to the Mr. & Mrs. F. L. Schlagle Library will be closed beginning Monday, January 26, 2026 to repair a retaining wall along the road. To access the library, please use the northern entrance off I-435 and Wolcott Drive to enter the park on 93rd Street. Details regarding the project can be found in this news article from FOX4KC.
