The Mr. & Mrs. F. L. Schlagle Library and Environmental Learning Center offers Summer Camps for four different age groups. See descriptions below.

Summer Camp Info

Nuts about Nature (Ages 5-6)

This camp is for children entering kindergarten ONLY.

  • Camp I Option: June 1-5, 9 a.m.-Noon
  • Camp II Option: June 1-5, 1-4 p.m.
  • Cost: $20 (plus processing fee)

Through outdoor play, storytelling, crafts, & games we’ll explore habitats, animals, plants, life cycles, and nature using all our senses to guide us. We’ll even practice our colors, shapes, letters, and number skills through our nature activities as we get a head start on kindergarten. Parents are invited the last day of camp to share some nature time with us!

Eco Explorers (Ages 6-8)

  • Camp I Option: June 8-12, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Camp II Option: June 15-19, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Camp III Option: June 22-26, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Cost: $25 (plus processing fee)

Eco Explorers camp combines science and nature education with activities such as experiments, archery, hiking and more! We will explore the natural world through hands on activities and games, complete colorful crafts and embark on outdoor adventures.

S.A.N.E. (Science, Art, Nature Expression) (Ages 9-11)

  • Camp I Option: June 29-July 3, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. M-TH, 10 a.m.-Noon Fri
  • Camp II Option: July 6-10, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. M-TH, 10 a.m.-Noon Fri
  • Camp III Option: July 13-17, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. M-TH, 10 a.m.-Noon Fri
  • Cost: $25 (plus processing fee)
  • Optional Overnight: $20 (Payment for overnight camp participants will be accepted in person the week of camp)

Get in S.A.N.E. this summer for a week of activities combining science and nature with artistic expression. We will focus on nature art, but will also do archery, go fishing, explore the trails, meet live animals, and much more! For Thursday, there will be an optional overnight stay that will include dinner, a campfire with s’mores, night games, and a family-friendly movie.

Destination Science (Ages 12-15)

  • Camp I Option: July 20-24, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. M-TH, 10 a.m.-Noon Fri
  • Camp II Option: July 27-31, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. M-TH, 10 a.m.-Noon Fri
  • Cost: $25 (plus processing fee)
  • Optional Overnight: $20 (Payment for overnight camp participants will be accepted in person the week of camp)

This week-long camp for middle schoolers focuses on science, nature and teambuilding. Activities may include hiking, archery, fishing, science experiments, dissection, teambuilding, and animal natural history programs. There will be an optional overnight on Thursday which includes nighttime games, s’mores, a late-night movie and more!
