The Mr. & Mrs. F. L. Schlagle Library and Environmental Learning Center offers Summer Camps for four different age groups. See descriptions below.
Summer Camp Info
Nuts about Nature (Ages 5-6)
This camp is for children entering kindergarten ONLY.
Once choice:- Camp I Option: June 5-9, 9am-Noon Monday-Friday
- Cost: $20 (plus processing fee)
Through outdoor play, storytelling, crafts, & games we’ll explore habitats, animals, plants, life cycles, and nature using all our senses to guide us. We’ll even practice our colors, shapes, letters, and number skills through our nature activities as we get a head start on kindergarten.
*If needed, a second camp session will open for the afternoon on June 5-9 from 1-4pm.*
Eco Explorers (Ages 6-8)
- Camp I Option: June 12-16, 10am-3pm Monday-Friday
- Camp II Option: June 20-23*, 10am-3pm Tuesday-Friday *Please note, EE II will run for 4 days instead of 5 in observance of Juneteenth, a federal holiday.
- Camp III Option: June 26-30, 10am-3pm Monday-Friday
- Cost: $25 (plus processing fee)
Eco Explorers camp combines science and nature education with activities such as experiments, outdoor recreation, storytelling, and more! We will explore the natural world through hands on activities and games, complete colorful crafts and embark on outdoor adventures.
Discovery Day Camp (Ages 9-11)
- Camp I Option: July 10-13, 10am-3pm Monday-Thursday
- Camp II Option: July 17-20, 10am-3pm Monday-Thursday
- Camp III Option: July 24-27, 10am-3pm Monday-Thursday
- Cost: $25 (plus processing fee)
- Optional Evening: $20 (paid during the week of camp)
Discovery Day Camp is an adventure-filled week of nature activities, crafts and games. Campers will learn all about plants, animals, and participate in programs such as fishing, archery, hiking, science experiments and making nature-inspired art. There will be optional evening activities and a bonfire on Thursday from 3pm-10pm.
Destination Science (Ages 12-15)
- Camp I Option: July 31-August 3, 10am-3pm Monday-Thursday
- Cost: $25 (plus processing fee)
- Optional Evening: $20 (paid during the week of camp)
This week-long camp for middle schoolers focuses on science, nature, outdoor skills and teambuilding. Activities may include hiking, archery, fishing, science experiments, engineering, dissection, teambuilding, and animal natural history programs. There will be optional evening activities and a bonfire on Thursday from 3pm-10pm.
