Join us for stories, songs and playtime featuring active play and sensory activities. Perfect for preschoolers, but babies and toddlers are welcome, too!

Families are invited to join us for fun, interactive storytimes every Saturday morning. This special storytime will include singing, dancing, and some great books! This storytime is geared towards guests over the age of 2 and their families.

Come on down to our interactive storytelling event, where you'll get lost in exciting tales that will transport you to new worlds and keep you on the edge of your seat.

Led by teaching artist Brad Shaw, students will create their own unique mask using paper mache and paints. Brad will work with the students to create characters with their masks and put them together in a mini-play!

Looking for a fun Halloween decoration?  Come turn a clay pot into an adorable candy corn jar to hold candy corn or just some of your Halloween candy.  All materials provided.  Ages: 5 to 12 years old.

Come play BINGO with a fun twist! Each BINGO card has different cute Halloween characters. Children that play with us will be able to win a Halloween rubber ducky and a Halloween bracelet of their choice. Everyone's a winner!

Come join us around the Schlagle Library's parking lot where decorated cars will have candy to hand to trick-or-treaters! Costumes are encouraged, but EVERYONE is welcome for our fall celebration. 

Children 2 to 7 years old, with or without mental or physical disabilities, are invited to participate in Young Athletes with Special Olympics Kansas for an 6 week long program at F. L. Schlagle Environmental Learning Library.

Ever wonder about cause and effect? Knock something over, then something else falls over, then another and another? Children ages 5-18 can learn about the science of chain reactions and create them using household items! 

Is your child just starting to work on letter recognition? Or are they struggling to reach reading fluency? Drop in every Wednesday to work on developing reading skills with phonics games and activities.

Looking for something to wind down after a long day? This club is geared toward children ages 8-19 to come chill out and work together on a variety of puzzles.

Looking for a way to wrap up your evening before dinner and bedtime? Come enjoy an interactive Storytime with multiple books and songs. At the end, there will be a surprise craft or activity.

Are you a reader in grades 1 – 5? Come join The Friendly Readers Book Club! This Virtual Book Club is just for kids and is a safe space to read together and talk about the books we love.

You're invited to our weekly fun craft! Experiment with a variety of art mediums and explore new skills every week. Parents and older siblings are encouraged to participate for some fun quality family time!

West Wyandotte Library is partnering with Special Olympics for Young Athletes Programming. 

You don't have to be a Grandmaster to enjoy our new chess club! New players or those who need a refresher are welcome to join a brief lesson at 6pm, followed by USCF Tournament Chess and free play for all beginning at 6:30pm.
