France's Michel Gondry got his start by becoming an in demand director of music videos for the likes of Bjork, The White Stripes, The Chemical Brothers, and Radiohead among others. Since then he has a built a career making inventive, surreal movies with a heart.
On this night, we will be watching Michel's 2008 film "Be Kind Rewind" starring Jack Black, Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def), and Danny Glover. It is rated PG-13.
Two bumbling store clerks inadvertently erase the footage from all of the tapes in their video rental store. In order to keep the business running, they re-shoot every film in the store with their own camera and a budget of zero dollars.
