Most Americans are probably familiar with George Miller's "Mad Max" series of films, but might struggle to name more Australian movies. This month, we are showcasing other films from Australia's rich cinematic history across different genres: thriller, animation, historical drama, and comedy.
On this night, we will be watching Adam Elliot's 2009 film "Mary and Max" starring Toni Collette, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Eric Bana.
In 1976 Melbourne, a lonely 8-year-old girl strikes up a correspondence with an unlikely pen pal: a severely obese 44-year-old New Yorker with Asperger's syndrome.
