Alright everyone, get ready to swing into action! Kansas City Jazz Orchestra's "Groove & Learn" is here to give your kiddos an opportunity to become mini-maestros! We’ve got an engaging and interactive way for students to learn about and develop a life-long love for America’s art form through our fun 45 minute performance! We're talking melody, harmony, rhythm, and all those fancy music words, but delivered with the kind of joy that'll have your kids begging for an encore. They'll learn about legendary cats like Count Basie and Duke Ellington, discover the secrets of improvisation (yes, even they will do it!), and even learn how Kansas City's own jazzy riffs and swing make the music bounce! Think of it as a musical playground where they'll explore instruments, learn to listen like pros, and unleash their inner creative geniuses. Plus, it's the perfect launchpad for jazz discussions in the classroom, teaching them skills with which to imagine, plan, create, and communicate in their everyday lives.
