Director of Libraries Search

The Kansas City, Kansas Public Library is looking for a new Director of Libraries to provide a full spectrum of public library services to the community and direction to the Kansas City, Kansas Public School Libraries.

Spring Break Nature QuestSpring Break Nature Quest, March 15-19

Explore science and nature at the Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Schlagle Library with a fun-filled week of activities for ages 7-11 from 10 am to noon. The cost is $2 per day per child. Space is limited. Call 913-299-2384 to register.


In Other Rooms, Other WondersPick a Winner

Daniyal Mueenuddin has won the Story Prize for In Other Rooms, Other Wonders, a collection of eight connected stories set in southern Pakistan and centering on the estate of a feudal landowner. Winners of Barnes & Noble's Discover Great New Writers Awards for fiction include Victor Ladato, for Mathilda Savitch, Barbara Johnson for More of This World or Maybe Another, and C.E. Morgan for All the Living. Nonfiction winners include Dave Cullen for Columbine, and Toby Lester for The Fourth Part of the World.

The Main Library's computer classroom will be available at specific times so you may e-file your taxes. The library provides computer access only. Library staff are not able to help you file your taxes. Due to the time it takes to e-file, you must be in the classroom and started 1 hour before the end of the scheduled session.
