CATALOGING LIBRARIAN -- Support Services
Provide original and copy cataloging including authority work, database maintenance and quality control functions of library materials for the system.  Will assist in the management of the flow of materials through cataloging and processing. ALA/MLS required.  Experience with MARC formats, AACRII, original and copy cataloging using multiple formats preferred.  Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate and express ideas effectively required.  Expected hiring range:  $32,000-$35,000 depending on qualifications.  KCKPL offers attractive benefits and optional purchase plan benefits: Health Insurance plans for employee and family; Dental and Vision plans for employee and family; Group Term Life; Salary protection; Tax Deferred Annuities; Flexible Spending Account and retirement plan through (KPERS) Kansas Public Employees Retirement System.  Cover letter, resume and 3 professional references are a requirement of the application.

 LIBRARY ASSOCIATE -- Turner Community Library
 
Assist at the public service desk, in the shelving of materials, provide reader's advisory,  and oversee  the computer lab ensuring procedures are being followed by patrons of all ages.  Will additionally plan and present programming as scheduled.  May also provide support in the selection of materials as required.  Bachelor's degree  or and equivalent education/experience mix with public library or customer service experience in a bookstore, music or video store preferred. Computer skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively essential. Handling of heavy materials may be requied on occasion.  Work schedule will include days, evenings and Saturdays. Expected hiring range:  $22,500-$28,500 depending on qualifications. P/T LIBRARY ASSOCIATE -- West Wyandotte Library
20 hours per week working days, evenings and weekends as required assisting in the Youth Services department.  Provide quality customer service in the patron assistance and sorting and shelving of library materials as assigned.  High school diploma with public library or customer service experience in a bookstore, music or video store preferred.  Computer and typing skills required.  Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to patrons and staff essential. Handling of heavy materials up to 35 pounds may be required on occasion.  Hourly rate of $8.50 applies.
