James Schultz: The Artist Collection Artwork by James Schultz James E. Schultz resides in Kansas City, Kansas. He, like many other artists has another occupation as their major source of income. James is an artist who also works as an auto mechanic. This not so stereotypic combination lead to an article featured in the Kansas City Magazine about his art and how he balances his careers. James paints at home in his basement studio amidst the lawn mowers, the woodworking tools, and the family laundry. James was often teased about being a perpetual student as he attended the University of Kansas from 1971 until 1991 when he received his BFA. During that time he met and worked with many fine artists using various mediums and techniques. In the last decade, James has worked primarily as a watercolorist. He has been a signature member of the Kansas Watercolor Society since 1993. Schultz has participated in numerous local and regional juried exhibitions and has won awards and received recognition for his art. James is now broadening his exposure on a national and international level. James Schultz's paintings, drawings, and photographs occupy many private collections.
