Functional Art Floorcloth Floorcloth with Rooster
Functional Art
by Robin Regner

Robin Regner began painting wall hangings, floorcloths, tablemats and placemats six years ago. She creates original designs by expressing life experiences through the use of color, shape and words.

Her business is called Functional Art because the completed creations can be used as home accessories or durable decorative pieces able to withstand everyday use. Each design is created on heavy-duty canvas using several coats of acrylic paint, varnish and then sealed with bowling alley wax.

"I have had one of my floorcloths in front of my kitchen sink for six years. The only care required is mild soap and water on a sponge to wipe it clean and it looks as good as the day I painted it," reports Regner.

Robins has exhibited her artwork in many juried art shows including: The UnPlaza Art Show, Art in the Park (Parkville, MO), Weston Art Fair and the upcoming Brookside Annual Art Fair slated for May 3-5, 2002.

Her work can be purchased at the following retail sites in Kansas City, Missouri: Almost Sisters in Brookside, Design Exchange in Waldo and the Center for Spiritual Living on 39th Street and in Mission, Kansas at Delaware Interiors. In addition, Robin painted twenty tablemats for "Carmen's on the Boulevard," an Italian restaurant located on Southwest Trafficway in Kansas City, Missouri.

Custom orders are welcome and gift certificates are available upon request. Robin can be reached by email at functionalartkc@hotmail.com.
