The Man Who Was Too Loud by Peter Max Lawrence Peter Max Lawrence was born in 1977 in Topeka, Kansas, adopted shortly after and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. His mother is a postal worker (visual artist) and his father is a public school teacher. He has been a prolific artist in one form or another his entire life. Primarily a self-taught visual expressionist working in a variety of mediums that include painting, video, collage and performance art. Currently he is focusing on issues that concern his struggle as a gay male surviving in middle America.
