Adam Nisbett's Wildlife Art by Adam Nisbett Adam Nisbett was born in Texas and now lives on a small farm in St. James, Missouri with his parents and eight siblings. He is currently 15 years old and a homeschooled sophomore. Adam has been interested in both drawing and wildlife since early childhood. He has enjoyed combining these two interests in his art. Adam became more intensely involved in wildlife art when he entered his first Junior Duck Stamp Competition. Although only 11 years old, he won "Best of Show" in Missouri and "Honorable Mention" on the Federal Level. He has since won three other first place awards and one other "Best of Show" in the Missouri Junior Duck Stamp Program. This experience greatly broadened Adam's knowledge of ducks, wetlands and waterfowl conservation. Adam has also found great benefit in his involvement with the Ozark Rivers Audubon Society, and the other gifted birders in the state. He participated in the "Celebration of Missouri Arts and Artists" in 2001 and 2002. This function provided area artists with an opportunity to help raise funding for a local Nature Center through a silent art auction. Adam is also a member of the ABA (American Birding Association) and has won second place in the illustration module of the Young Birder of the Year contest sponsored by ABA and Lecia. Adam has also created and maintains a website for his wildlife art and photography, Adam Nisbett's Wildlife Art. Adam can be reached at nisbett@tigernet.missouri.org.
