Ten Talents Drawings and Paintings by Deborah Nickloy Deborah Nickloy, a South Dakota native, has lived in the Kansas City area since marrying in 1990.
Initially a self-taught pencil portraitist and woodburner, Deborah was invited to display and demonstrate her skills at the Central States Fair in Rapid City, South Dakota. There she also received two "Best of Show" awards as well as several first place and other ribbons. Deborah also held a private, one-man art show in Rapid City.
Wanting to continue developing her skills, Deborah took several art classes at Black Hills State College, and won the "People's Choice" award at the student art show in 1989-1990. In Kansas City, Deborah has held two demonstration/art shows in the Metcalf South Mall, and has displayed her work at the Main Library in Kansas City, Kansas. She has taken oil painting lessons with local artist Phil Starke, and a drawing class from James Mirick at Kansas City Kansas Community College.
Over the years, Deborah has sold commission and free-lance pencil drawings, prints, woodburnings and oil paintings to various individuals and businesses, including Posty Cards and a menu design for Johnny's BBQ restaurant of Overland Park, Kansas.
