| Millie Mechenich has been interested in painting since high school. With instruction from a local artist, she began oil painting in 1970. Later she took a portrait class where she learned pencil drawing. Achieving success using pencil and oil paint, she then studied acrylic painting with Ron Raymer. She later shifted to painting mostly with watercolor. In the last ten years, Millie has attended workshops throughout the United States with artists including Jim Hamil, Gerald Brommer, Ron Ranson, Tony Couch, Ken Hosmer and Jan Kunz. Millie has shown her work locally and around the region. Her pieces are in private collections in more than a dozen states from California to Florida. Millie is a member of the senior Arts Council of Johnson County and the Greater Kansas City Arts Association.
