November 3 through 29, 1997 at the West Wyandotte Library
Artwork by Bonnie Hallier Bonnie Hallier was raised in Kansas City, Kansas. She married and moved to South Carolina where she started a family. In 1977 Bonnie moved to Overland Park, Kansas were she raised her five children. In 1991, Bonnie took her first art class. At this point she feels she is in the beginning stages of the process of experimentation. She experiments with shapes, colors, medium, composition, and content. It is incredible fun and a challenge.
She states, "Art is a process, and I have been astounded." She has watched her art teachers and friends "bare their souls" when they exhibit the work they create. Exhibiting work is all a part of the process. These works are part of Bonnie's process. She says, "I feel as though I'm sharing my emotions, feelings and soul in art form. I feel there is a lot of hope reflected in this body of work. I personally am encouraged by this as my life has been recently scarred by a divorce and death of family members and friends. We are all affected by these types of tragedies in our lives, so having hope is a very important factor in moving on."
Bonnie believes art is a healthy method of expression. One influential person in her life believes "there are no barriers, there is always an answer, there's a better way, there is no problem that can't be solved." This Bonnie believes wholeheartedly. She has been deeply motivated by other creative people. In turn she wants to give back. So, in her artistic journey Bonnie states, "For all those who know me, may this be a strong statement for the importance of having hope and moving on."
