Montana and Beyond Photographs by Kathleen Gerdes "The work on display is a compilation of work that covers more than 15 years of dedication. The variety is due to my various interests as well as a summary of the photo trips I have made throughout the years of intense work on my craft.
I enjoy going to the more modern zoos to view animals in the simulation of a natural environment that I probably will never get to see in the wild.
I try to have one special photograph that I bring back from my various travels and workshops as a reminder of the beautiful places I have seen and the knowledge I have gleaned from each.
I also like to drive back roads searching out objects and scenes that are a record of our past. Some day they will be gone. I make these images as a personal record of the past. I use images in this way to remind us of times gone by. I prefer natural lighting. It helps me see with my creative side, my interpretation of the elements that appeal to me. I share with others, that view, of work I do for pleasure." --Kathleen Gerdes
Kathleen Gerdes is mostly self-taught. She has spent many hours searching out subjects that call to her inner senses. Kathleen has taken advantage of photography classes at community colleges, has attended workshops and seminars, learning from and working with several photographers considered among the best today.
