New Work
Paintings and Ceramics by Jan Gaumnitz

"The work in this exhibit is a good indication of 'where I am' at this point in my life - a really good place to be! Our four children are 'out of the nest' and seem to be happy, my husband and I just built a new house in the semi-country, and I'm devoting my energy full-time to my art and garden.

The paintings reflect my lifelong interest in nature, my love of travel - particularly to places south and west - and, I hope, a sense of humor and a willingness to experiment. I believe the ceramics also exhibit these same influences. I find that my work in painting and sculpture is coming closer together - the same lines, defining shapes, and colors appear in both, and each process benefits from the other, creating stronger images."  --Jan Gaumnitz
