Oberservations on Life's Pleasures and Challenges

Paintings by Marc Chamberlain

"My paintings come from inspirations and life experiences. I get ideas from folklore and nationally known musicians or heroes of the past and present.

My goals in art: I would like to paint portraits of famous people and become known for it. I want to do a self titled mural and have it shown in a huge gallery. I would also like to be able to set up galleries where artists would have a chance to display their art, so that people in the community will find inspiration.

Shows: I began exhibiting my art began in 1999. However, at the age of 13, I received recognition for my painting and drawing talent when I received the "Gold Key Award" for my entry in 1976 exhibition sponsored by the Crown Center Hotel. In 1999, I submitted work to the Westport Art Fair and have been a participant ever since then. I had a one-man exhibition at the Grand Gallery in downtown Kansas City in 2001. Also through the years, I have shown my paintings at the American Jazz Museum on 18th and Vine in Kansas City, Missouri. My works has also been included in an exhibition at the Carter Art Center gallery in the Penn Valley Community College, Saint Luke’s Hospital, and the "Dead Man Walking" exhibition." --Marc Chamberlain
