Ardis Petersen received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Buena Vista in Storm Lake, Iowa in 1984. She taught K-12 art in Exira and Avoca, Iowas from 1985 until 1993. Ardis was the director of the restoration of Bestemors House in Iowa in 1982. Always active in art groups, she was the president of the E.H.-Kimballton Arts Council from 1981 to 1990. Here in Kansas City she was a supporting artist on the "Anthology of Argentine" mural and received the Kansas City Neighborhood Hero Award at the Celebration of the Heart 2000.
